MEDIATION TRAINING FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES AND REGULATORY COMMISSION-PURC: FEBRUARY 8-12, 2016

MCRC organized Mediation training for Public Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ghana, which is an independent body set up to regulate and oversee  the provision of the highest quality of  electricity and water services to consumers.

Training Content

The training covered the following: Introduction to Conflict and Conflict Management, Interest Based Negotiation, Basic Introduction to Alternative Dispute Resolution, Understanding Mediation, Learning Mediation Skills, The Ethical Obligations of Mediators, Communication for Dispute Resolution and Practical Challenges of Mediation.

Participants

The training brought together thirty two (32) participants of which 24 from PURC, 2 from Electricity Company of Ghana Ltd., 3 from N. Electricity Distribution Company Ltd., and 3 from Ghana Water Company Ltd.
